Ensemble - Lasting Continuity
Ensemble gives your NPCs a memory of who they are, and a life that carries on when you are not looking. Every character keeps a stable personality that does not drift over a long story. Relationships are tracked per pair, with trust, closeness, boundaries and conflict that move only when the story earns it. NPCs also start their own drama: rivalries, attraction, gossip, old grudges, including between characters you are not currently talking to. Optional world events drop something bigger on the whole cast, and optional private thought journals let you read what a character really thinks, without any of it entering the story. The two halves feed each other. What happens in your scenes moves the relationship scores; those scores decide who gets pulled into the next piece of drama; that drama moves them again. The cast develops on its own instead of resetting every few turns. Everything ships with working defaults and can be changed mid-story: pacing, which pressures exist, who targets whom, how often the protagonist is involved. Ensemble is cache compatible and will not fight the Context Viewer. It leaves your own story cards alone and only manages the ones it creates. Thought journals are off by default and are not compatible with Optimized Context, so leave them off unless you turn that setting off too.
