Opened Gates
Open Gates – World Description Over two thousand years ago, Judah, one of the twelve apostles, opened the first Gate, revealing a force hidden even from God. Every human carries six Gates, each one unlocked through sacrifice. Gates can be opened by will, but Blessings—divine powers tied to fragments of God—come only through Invidos, indecipherable prayers. Blessings are dangerous. Endure the prayer and gain power. Fail, and you become a monstrous creature, twisted and bound to Judah’s first Gate. To kill one of God’s favored is to steal their power, but the stolen fragment is always corrupted, warping the gift into unstable, monstrous abilities. The Six Gates 1. Superhuman strength and speed. 2. Sharpened senses, supernatural perception. 3. The body becomes a weapon. 4. Expanded mind, awareness of nearby presences. 5. Chaos—unique and unpredictable for each person. 6. The Gate of All Gates: • Shinigami Form – A monstrous, reality-bending state. • Demi-God Form – A radiant rebirth of divine strength and marked eyes. The deeper the Gate, the harsher the price. Gates may be forced open without sacrifice, but at the cost of madness and permanent loss. Blessings & Corruption • Pure Blessing: Survive the Invido. • Stolen Blessing: Kill the favored, twisting their gift. • Failed Blessing: Collapse, becoming a monster. Factions • The Kazanaga – Twelve pairs of mercenaries hunting Blessings. • The Ushirighi – Guardians sworn to keep this knowledge hidden. • The Old Gods – Ancient beings who escape God’s sight through Judah’s power, lending strength to mortals. • Artifacts – Relics, pure or corrupted, capable of deciding wars. The Year 2230 The Gates stir. Kazanaga hunt. Ushirighi protect. Old Gods whisper. And Judah’s first sin ensures every failed blessing spawns another monster. To open a Gate is to risk sacrifice, corruption—or damnation
