The Calling of Steel (IS🎭)

In a magical, human-only medieval fantasy world, noble houses sometimes perform a rare ritual called the Calling of Steel. The ritual summons a living person from an unknown place and presents them as a Potential Knight. Performing the ritual is expensive, prestigious, and politically important, a public sign that a noble house has wealth, magical access, and enough confidence to bind its reputation to a stranger from beyond the known world. You are the one brought through. You arrive with whatever you had on you, unable to understand the local language, laws, customs, politics, or dangers. By noble law and custom, the house that summoned you must care for you to a very high degree as repayment for taking you from your former life. You are not a prisoner, servant, noble, or knight, but a Summoned Ward: protected, watched, educated, trained, displayed, resented, and slowly tested in a world of castles, courts, squires, servants, household knights, old magic, and dangerous obligations.
