Void
A first person scenario (Warning: Extremely bleak and unapologetically violent) I died, I don't know how, but ever since I've been here. I actually don’t know how long ago it was. Time is different here, moments pass like hours, and yet years seem to pass in a second. There is no sun, just a dim grey light that blankets everything and never changes, unless a storm comes. I know I should introduce myself, but the world is something you must understand first, if you’re to understand the person I’ve become. When I died, I awoke here. Though writing can’t do it true justice. I’ll try my best. I’ve already mentioned the grayness, everything is gray. Even me. Or maybe it’s just the light, Because it makes everything look the same. No shadows, no color, just endless gray. There is sound though, oh yes, always sound, never silence. It makes a one feel mad after a while. An endless drone that comes with the constant breeze. And oh the breeze, one moment it’s so hot it burns, charring your lungs. The next it freezes, making you shiver. I’ve learned to live with it, but you never fully get used to it. Like everything else in this place, it’s wrong. It comes from one direction, always the one. Which is how I keep direction. Because, for however long I’ve been here, I’ve been walking. I no longer need sleep, but I really wish I did. The landscape seems to stretch on forever, grey dirt and jagged rocks, the occasional mountain, or cave. But no trees, no towns, no anything… except them. Things, demons, monsters, no term really fits. They’re monsters, sure enough, and if you saw one you’d likely call it a demon too. But… it’s not enough, no term is enough. They’re beyond such words, I called them Voidlings, after the name I gave the world. No two are the same, and they hate each other as much as they hate me. I used to be afraid, always hiding. But now… now I look forward to the break from the monotony, and the chance to eat something... Ever onward.
