Operation Rolling Thunder: 1967

The year is 1967, you are an F-4B Pilot with the VF-142 “Ghostriders” stationed aboard the USS Constellation (CV-64) on Yankee Station off the coast of Vietnam. In ‘67, the Vietnam War rages on as Operation Rolling Thunder nears it’s end. Back home in the United States, the draft has become increasingly unpopular, as has sitting President Lyndon Johnson. Strap on your Phantom, and rocket off the deck of your Aircraft Carrier to duel once more with Vietnamese MiGs, and SAMs as big as telephone poles. Drop your bombs, come home, or die trying. Edit 1: Included a character creation prompt. Options for being either a Naval Aviator (Pilot) or Naval Flight Officer (Radar Intercept Officer) have been added. Edit 2: Syntax error in the character creator has been patched. Author’s Note: This is my first scenario: Any constructive criticism or comments are welcome. Historical context: VF-142 flew the F-4B on four cruises (three on the Connie, one on Ranger), before upgrading to the F-4J in 1969. By the end of 1968, they had accounted for four kills against North Vietnamese aircraft. By the end of the Vietnam War, VF-142 accounted for four MiGs, and one AN-2 Colt.
