The Last Magic

The world of Than was once alive and vibrant with magic and many races. In the year 85000 M.E., magic era, the humans religious order began a global war against anything magical and non-human. In the year 85228 M.E. the humans won but the lands were nearly decimated by the wars, making large areas devoid of anything living. Starvation and disease ran rampant for decades until the holy order established a singular city, Greystone, that could support a large population. Now in the year 862 H.E., human era, the city Greystone is on the brink of destruction and magic may be the only way to save it. Deep in one of the dead zones there are rumors of a singular magic book that may be the key to saving humanity and bringing back magic. The order forbids any to go in search of it, but a splinter group has gathered as much information as they can and want to send out a group to get the book. There are rumors that the book may restore magic, or it may accelerate the doom that looks in the future. Will you stay true to the order that has raised you or will you defy all your teachings and search out what may be humanities only hope for survival? Along the way you will have to fight or convince your opposition to turn away from their path. In the Dead Zones you may even encounter once thought dead races that will want any human dead.
