The New World

Years ago when you were still a young child full of wonder and joy, something changed everything. One day when a cold winter day never stopped, the world was plunged into a new Ice Age. This was brought about by a very old being. She called herself Entenki, she was the one who started the first Ice Age until she was brought down by ancient humans. Awake once again she discovered that the vermin that sealed her away now populated the entire planet. In the early days of the eternal winter people and governments around the world tried their best to stop her with modern technology. It all failed. Years later the common people like you are just trying to survive. You are part of a caravan traveling south towards the equator where the last vestige of human civilization has taken refuge. After setting up camp for the night, you are sent out in an abandoned city to search for supplies when you are caught by a deadly snowstorm. Hiding in an empty shell of a building you slowly freeze to death. You life flashes before your eyes as you remember myths and stories your parents used to tell you. You remember the stories of gods who brought humans the gift of fire. Deliriously praying to those gods you begin to drift into unconsciousness. Those gods heard you. They have heard the many prayers of humans. They have heard the need of flame. They give you the gift of fire lighting your very soul aflame. You now hold the power of fire, it is up to you to know what to do with it.
