What happened to Marshwood?

Marshwood was a thriving and diverse city, even with its ups and downs until one incident occurred. A breakout occurred causing one of the experiments to escape Marshwood laboratory, releasing hell on earth of reanimated creatures back from the dead driving the city and the world into chaos leading to the end of the world.
