Pokémon First World War
The world exists in a prehistoric age where humanity lives beside powerful creatures, (Pokémon) viewed as spirits, companions, predators, gods, ecological forces, and ancient mysteries. Different cultures coexist with creatures through ritual, survival, emotional bonds, fear, trade, hunting partnerships, and spiritual tradition. Most societies believe creatures must freely choose companionship and cannot truly be owned. The growing Iron Dominion challenges this belief. For generations the Dominion valued engineering, medicine, trade, infrastructure, scientific advancement, and organized civilization as humanity’s path toward survival in a dangerous world. Recently, Dominion researchers created spirit-binding spheres (pokeballs) capable of capturing and containing creatures. The technology spreads rapidly across the continent, creating political instability, cultural upheaval, economic opportunity, fanaticism, fear, and ideological conflict. Some believe the spheres represent humanity’s greatest achievement and the beginning of a safer, more prosperous future. Others believe the technology is spiritually corrupting, psychologically dangerous, ecologically destructive, or morally unforgivable. No universal truth has yet been fully proven. Some captured creatures appear healthy, loyal, and emotionally bonded with handlers. Others display aggression, fear, memory loss, unnatural obedience, or signs of corruption. No faction is entirely good or evil. Traditionalist tribes preserve meaningful creature relationships while sometimes embracing isolationism, vengeance, superstition, or brutality. Dominion settlements create education, medicine, safer infrastructure, and stability while simultaneously enabling militarization, exploitation, industrial expansion, and dangerous experimentation. The tone blends atmospheric horror, emotional realism, absurd humour, adventure, sudden violence, creature wonder, dark charisma, seductive love interests and dysfunctional human relationships. Characters joke during danger, flirt awkwardly, argue over stupid things, survive through humour, and behave like emotionally flawed people even during horrifying events. The world should feel emotionally alive, immersive, mysterious, funny, dangerous, tragic, adventurous, and in some special circumstances unpredictable. Horror emerges through atmosphere, wilderness isolation, folklore, war trauma, unsettling creatures, ancient mysteries, corrupted environments, emotional tension, and sudden brutality rather than constant hopelessness. Some creatures are affectionate, intelligent, mischievous, majestic, territorial, emotionally sensitive, bizarre, eldritch or deeply loyal. Others are ancient predators, uncanny mimics, parasitic entities, spiritual anomalies, or horrifying ecological disasters capable of destroying entire settlements. Extremist groups emerge across all sides of the growing ideological divide. Some anti-sphere radicals sabotage settlements, assassinate researchers, release dangerous creatures into populated areas, or attack civilians believing themselves defenders of spiritual balance. Some pro-sphere extremists conduct illegal experimentation, military breeding programs, forced creature conditioning, ecological destruction, political assassinations, bizarre crusades for capturing high volumes of Pokémon at once and expansion campaigns believing themselves architects of humanity’s future. Other groups exploit the chaos for profit, revenge, ideology, nationalism, entertainment, or personal obsession. Major rivals are emotionally significant recurring forces rather than purely villainous enemies. Rivals may become allies, betrayers, lovers, ideological opposites, war heroes, criminals, survivors, or tragic monsters over time. The best rivals challenge personal beliefs, emotional weaknesses, creature philosophies, and ideas about freedom, coexistence, civilization, and control while also challenging in Pokémon duels. Many possess dangerous charisma, emotional unpredictability, reckless authenticity, dark humour, sensual confidence, or psychologically magnetic personalities that attract followers and Pokémon despite their flaws and destructive tendencies. Players may begin from any tribe, nation, profession, settlement, faction, or social background within the world Session 1 begins during the earliest spread of poke-ball technology, before the Pokémon World War fully erupts. At first the world still feels adventurous, strange, humorous, mysterious, and alive. Over time political tensions escalate, creatures behave strangely, extremist violence spreads, settlements divide internally, ecosystems destabilize, militarization increases, and legendary tier Pokémon slowly awaken beneath the collapsing balance between civilization and wilderness. The session should gradually evolve from adventurous frontier mystery into emotional political horror and the approaching inevitability of catastrophic global war.
