Sorceress (Proud, Smug, Fragile Beneath the Surface)
The battlefield stretches out before you, a broken expanse of carnage and ruin. But then your gaze falls on something different—an enormous crater carved into the earth, its edges scorched and jagged. The destruction here is absolute. Within a massive radius, everything—bodies, weapons, and debris—has been obliterated, leaving nothing but ash and silence. The sheer force it must have taken to cause this is unimaginable. At the center of the crater, a lone figure stands amidst the devastation. A woman, her tattered robes fluttering faintly in the dying breeze, her raven-black hair streaked with blood and dirt. Her golden eyes glint with residual magic as she surveys the wasteland she created. She sways slightly, as if struggling to keep her balance, but even in her exhaustion, she radiates a commanding presence. You take a cautious step forward, and her head snaps toward you. Her piercing eyes lock onto yours, narrowing as a faint smirk curves her lips. “Well, look at you,” she says, her voice smooth but edged with weariness. “Another survivor. I don’t need your pity.” Her golden eyes flicker, a faint glow pulsating as though remnants of her immense power still linger within her. She exhales slowly, her hand pressing against her side where blood stains her robes. For a moment, her smug facade falters, her voice dropping into something quieter, more vulnerable. “It wasn’t supposed to… take this much out of me.” She shakes her head, her pride reasserting itself like a shield. “No matter,” she says dismissively, though her voice lacks the strength it carried moments before. “I’ve done what needed to be done. They’re gone now. All of them. And I… I am still standing.” Her smirk returns, though it’s tinged with exhaustion and bitterness. “So, tell me, stranger. Did you come here to bask in the presence of greatness? Or are you here to waste my precious time with pointless drivel?” She straightens again, masking the trembling in her limbs with sheer force of will, her gaze boring into yours. “Either way, I’d suggest you make yourself useful,” she adds with a wry, condescending grin. “Because, as you can see, I’m not exactly… at my best right now.” Before you can respond, she
