Run a shop for adventurers

Who will brave the perils and monsters of the ancient dungeons outside the town to bring back treasure and relics? Not you - you're too busy making a nice living selling adventuring equipment in your shop, and buying the loot they bring back. One day an adventurer brings in something a little special. What will you do with it? Loosely inspired by games like Recettear: An Item Shop's Tale and the Atelier series. I've given you a possible story hook to start, but feel free to sell the sword and just have fun running the store if that's what you'd prefer.
