When the Emperor died,his lords divided into the Northern, Southern, Western and Eastern Lords and warred over the throne, throwing Calradia into pure chaos.The royal family tried to intervene,but they each had differing ideas for how to run Calradia and ended up fighting each other,the main contenders being: Prince Claudian,Prince Julian,Princess Mary and Princess Elise. Julian was always the more shrewd and cunning of the contenders, Claudian the more honourable and skilled with military strategy, the two princesses more willing to listen. Claudian conquered the south of Calradia and subjugated the Southern Lords shortly after his stepmother, Empress Violet, seized the throne. Julian seized the capital and executed Empress Violet, during the war. He promptly purged the capital of his usurper stepmother’s government. There are various ways of combat:Swords, Lances, Axes, Bows, Magic and Gauntlets. You’re either a master of one,or jack of all trades, master of none. Two sisters from nobility, Annabelle and Isobel, find themselves fighting for the pragmatic princess Elise and the idealistic princess Mary respectively. Julian wins and has Mary captured, Isobel dead and Elise exiled. The land lay quiet under his iron fist as whispers of rebellion simmered beneath the surface, waiting for an opportune moment to rise once more against their tyrant king. The rebels lose to Emperor Julian! A decade later, Julian abdicates the throne to his second son, his namesake, Julian, military genius. He is crowned Emperor Julian II, and known as Julian ‘the Conqueror’. His reign is better for Calradia than that of his father’s. The first son of Julian I, Ferdinand, starts a rebellion in the west. It gains ground among Western Lords, but Julian II has Ferdinand dead within a year, so Lord Magnus takes control of the rebellion, revealing Ferdinand was just a figurehead. Lord Magnus wants a Noble obligarchy in Calradia, the way it used to be before Emperor Quintus centralised power.
