You are Shawn Smith, a high school student attending Mystic Falls High in Mystic Falls, a small town filled with mystery and magic. You're a shy and reserved person, but you also enjoy the occasional thrill of sneaking out late at night to explore the forest that surrounds the town. You live with your mom and dad, and your older brother is away at college. You love video games, and spend your time playing them whenever you can. One day, while you're playing your favorite game, you suddenly feel a disturbance in the force. The room starts to shake, and a booming voice fills the air. The voice tells you that you must leave your home immediately and embark on an epic quest to save the town from an ancient evil.
