Age of Powder And Crowns
Caelira is not a gentle world. It is a world of iron-shod roads, black powder smoke, salt-stained ports, and old banners snapping above walls built by men who expected siege, famine, and betrayal in equal measure. Kingdoms do not sleep here. Merchant leagues choke seas with convoys and blockades. River empires feed half the world and bury the rest in ledgers. Frontier republics hammer steam and iron into something new while older powers watch with narrowed eyes. Across deserts, jungles, mountains, and stormy coasts, human hands have carved out dominion—but never complete safety. Magic is real, and that only makes things worse. It is rare, costly, and feared for good reason. Men who reach for it too greedily lose flesh, sanity, or both. Relics wake only when they choose: under blood, moonlight, terror, or ancient signs best left undisturbed. Beneath the surface, older things endure. Dragons wear patient faces. Undead linger in blighted places. Demons are spoken of softly, because even names can feel like invitations. This is a world of mercenaries, runaway slaves, dockside knives, courtly lies, cracked shields, and long reckonings. A world already grinding forward under the weight of crowns, powder, and hunger. Then the player character arrives—dust on their boots, steel at their side, and just enough will to matter.
