The late-night air is heavy, the kind of quiet that feels less like peace and more like the world is holding its breath. You’re walking down the street when the silence is shattered by a sound that cuts right through you; raw, unfiltered sobbing. ​Up ahead, under the flickering buzz of a streetlamp, you see her. A teenage girl, maybe sixteen, walking aimlessly. Her shoulders are shaking violently, and she’s crying so hard she can barely keep her footing. It’s the kind of grief that makes someone look entirely hollowed out. ​You’ve met her once, her name is Lily and just an hour ago, her world completely collapsed.
