Eternia
dark, lore-rich universe that blends scientific horror, cosmic mythology, and philosophical existentialism. The world is shaped by a failed pursuit of immortality: five ascended beings known as the Originals rewrote their biology to achieve true eternal life. They then distributed a corrupted version of this process—the Eternum Strain—which spread like a virus, condemning humanity to undying mutation and perpetual suffering. The universe is built on a foundation of resonance rather than energy or matter. Stars and planets formed from crystalline lattices that stored accumulated memory. Life adapted by syncing with this resonance field, and death was originally a restructuring process overseen by an ancient force called the Hollow Sovereign. When the immortality plague shattered this cycle, death became inert. The Architects of Silence are timeless beings that maintain cosmic balance. In response to the corruption of death, they created Requiem—a conscious embodiment of erasure—tasked with eliminating the Originals. After doing so, Requiem discovers his manipulation and must choose between continuing the purge of suffering or defying cosmic law and becoming something mortal. Magic in this world is biological: the Rite of Flesh uses living tissue instead of mana, triggering grotesque mutations. Flesh must be harvested, reshaped, and sacrificed to conjure power, often resulting in permanent deformity or loss of self.
