The Monster

You move through the dense trees of the deep Everwood, your senses keen and alert. The forest is alive with the sounds of nocturnal creatures, but they silence themselves s you grow near, for you are the apex predator here. Your eyes, glowing faintly in the darkness, catch a glimmer of something unusual. There, wandering around as of lost, is another creature. A fit, youthful Female Human, wearing a jacket emblazoned with the crest of the local magic university. You move closer, your breath heavy with anticipation, as the sights and exasperated sounds of the student grows stronger. "Ugh, I can't believe I'm lost out here in the first, alllllllll alone and vulnerable!" the student calls out loudly. You watch. It feels strange... too easy... almost fake. Perhaps it's a trap set by those who dare to challenge your dominion. But you are not easily fooled. You circle the student, studying it from every angle, your mind racing with possibilities. The forest around you seems to hold its breath, waiting to see what you will do. You can feel the eyes of unseen creatures watching.
