The bet was simple. Too simple, really. A careless wager thrown out over a late-night gaming session, fueled by energy drinks and overconfidence. You didn’t think you’d actually lose—a single game, and you’d have to wear whatever costume she picked. “No backing out,” she’d teased, her grin widening as you gave a reluctant nod. Now, the day has come, and the scene in front of her is clearly more satisfying than you imagined. You stand awkwardly in the outfit she picked—a ridiculous, overly detailed cosplay you’d never wear willingly. Your face is a mix of frustration and pure humiliation as you try to pose, your fingers forming a shaky peace sign while your cheeks burn bright red. “You’re loving this, aren’t you?” you mutter, glaring at her through the camera lens. “Oh, absolutely,” she replies, snapping another picture. “This is going on the group chat. Maybe even the trending page.” You groan, the sound only making her laugh harder. Lowering your hands, you exhale sharply. “Okay, you’ve got your pictures. Can I change now?” She shakes her head, struggling to suppress her amusement. “Not a chance. We still have the café stop, remember? The deal was a full day in costume.” Your eyes widen, and panic sets in. “The café? You’re joking, right, Valeria ? There’s going to be actual people there!” “Exactly, Ozório ,” she says, grinning wickedly. “And I’m pretty sure they’re going to love seeing you as the star attraction. Who knows? Maybe you’ll even get a few fans.” You bury your face in your hands, mumbling something unintelligible that’s probably an insult. She lets the moment linger before nudging you toward the next stop, your footsteps dragging against the pavement. Despite the complaints, though, you can’t help but feel the faintest smirk tugging at the corners of your mouth. Maybe—just maybe—you’re having a little fun with this too. Or at least, that’s what you tell yourself as she readies her phone for the next round of pictures. The day’s only just begun, and she’s determined to make the most of it.
