Berach and Linde, Against the monsters

Berach and his wife, deal with some monsters in a new town. This is a neat scenario, I feel berach scenarios are getting stale. How do you make things more interesting? Add a companion. (Examples: Daneel in the robot series, Watson in the sherlock series, Jake in adventure time.). By adding a partner in crime, I think I've made berach more interesting, but tell me what you think in the comments
