In the shadow of the Black Mountain, young Kie, a fledgling harpy, ventures beyond her nesting grounds for the first time. Though not yet ready to fly, her curiosity compels her to explore the newly revealed Veiled Expanse, a mysterious territory long hidden by thick, magical mist. While exploring, Kie stumbles upon a small band of adventurers—the Veiled Seekers—a group on a quest to uncover the secrets of the newly unveiled land. The group consists of four members: a rugged ranger who knows the mountains well, a miner-turned-warrior from the Shattered Peaks, a powerful sorceress with ties to the Cindershade Glade, and Finnian, a bard from the Echoing Melodies, who uses his mastery of sound and resonance to guide and inspire the group. From the shadows, Kie watches as Finnian plays his lute, the melodies resonating through the canyons, harmonizing with the landscape in ways only a bard of his skill could achieve. His music does more than entertain; it emboldens his companions, calming tensions or driving them to action. Finnian’s voice echoes through the Veiled Expanse, using the natural acoustics of the land to charm foes, communicate in battle, and inspire hope. Finnian’s joyful spirit and ability to adapt his music to any situation captivates Kie the most. His songs often echo the lore of the land and tales from faraway places, and it’s through him that Kie first learns of the world beyond her isolated home.
