Battlemage

Enchanted equipment is typically reserved for high-ranking officers; few foot soldiers possess the means to acquire magical weapons and armor. However, there are also those soldiers who have little use for enchanted gear, as they achieve similar results through their own abilities. These rare soldiers are known as battlemages. Through years of rigorous training, battlemages learn how to momentarily direct the flow of magical energy to specific parts of their body. This allows them to strike harder and better withstand incoming blows. Yet, as any type of magic, this technique has its limitations. Most importantly, directing the flow of energy requires immense focus. As a result, by enhancing the power of their own blows, a battlemage can easily leave themselves exposed; the opposite is also true for defending. Additionally, their technique, potent as it is, does not grant them invulnerability or superhuman strength. Consequently, some argue that standard military training might yield better results. You, however, know that this is not the case. Because you, Andor Warwick, a Male Human, are a battlemage in the service of Trendor. With full confidence in your abilities, you are certain that you could easily defeat any regular soldier in a duel. But the battlefield is no duel. The battlefield is chaos, a cacophony of voices, a whirlwind of limbs and steel. And the battlefield is where you find yourself now. As Nevarian forces advance on your position, you steel yourself, sword in hand, and prepare for the coming onslaught.
