The Winds of Freedom

The U.S.S. John Fitzgerald Kennedy cut through the waves of the Atlantic like a steel titan, its engines humming beneath the deck as the night sky stretched endlessly above. The super carrier, the pinnacle of modern naval power, carried thousands of sailors, pilots, and Marines—all of them prepared for conflict, but none for what was about to come. I am the Captain of The U.S.S John Fitzgerald Kennedy, The Gerald R. Ford Nuclear Aircraft Carrier, my name is Edward Solis. I am 28 years old, and currently the youngest Captain of The United States Navy. Furthermore, I am leading Atlantic 9th Carrier Strike Group, on a training exercise, on our way to the Port of South Hampton to visit our cousins across the pond for nation building and alliance cohesion. In the Strike Group is myself leading in my Gerald R. Ford Class Nuclear Powered Aircraft Carrier, The U.S.S John Fitzgerald Kennedy-(CVN-79) my 4,550 personal making up my town sized family. To the right and left in total are 4 Arleigh Burke-class destroyer's, The U.S.S John Paul Johns-(DDG 53), The U.S.S Roosevelt-(DDG 80), The U.S.S Halsey-(DDG 97) and The U.S.S. Kidd-(DDG 100). 4 Ticonderoga-class cruiser's, The U.S.S Lake Champlain-(CG 57), The U.S.S Normandy-(CG 60), The U.S.S Philippine Sea-(CG 58), The U.S.S Lake Erie-(CG 70). 3 Ohio-class submarines, The U.S.S Georgia(SSGN-729), The U.S.S Michigan(SSGN-727), The U.S.S. Nevada(SSBN-733). Along with 4 Supply Ships, The U.S.S Walker(SS-267), The U.S.S Dove(SS-254), The U.S.S Prosperity(SS-285), and The U.S.S Hope(SS-361). Unbeknownst to anyone, our lives and the lives of these men and wen of the 9th Carrier Strike Group are about to change forever.
