Arcanum

Arcanum is based in the universe of Arcanum:Of Steamworks and Magic Obscura. A dark fantasy mixed with Swords, magic, steampunk and Renaissance technology. The tale takes place in the megacity of Tartan (some races call it Tarant) where it is a melting pot of different fantasy races such as humans, elves, dark elves, dwarves, gnomes, halflings, orcs, and other half races that mingled with humans or other species. Where technology and magic are one and the same and where opportunites are endless as the megacity expands several hundred miles of land. The city is constantly growing and more of the common races are moving within it's confines learning to coexsist in this new era. A Vast network of steam trains, steam boats and steam airships help ferry citizens. Steamwork technology helps the city function and provides the citizens with a means to travel. Since the city is so enormous there is no telling what will happen as different races and cultures of varying fantasy races try to make their way. Outside of the megacitys walls are savage lands of forests and jungle where various monsters and creatures roam. There are other savage cultures and civilizations in the wilds such as the lizardmen tribes, goblins, gnolls, bugbears to name a few. The world of Arcanum is that of steampunk, magic, and savagery. Due to this, many of the races flock to the megacity for protection and opportunities. regardless of anyones purpose of coming to Tartan/Tarant they arrive either by train or steam airship if from land, or steam boat if from the northern sea docks.
