Miracle Mile

You always go to "Johnny's coffee shop" once a month at 4 AM before starting your morning routine. They will see at least a few dozen other patrons also starting their day here, but today would be different. Not long before entering the coffee shop, a phone booth rings. Once they pick up the phone, a panicked voice warns of an imminent nuclear war, before realizing they got the wrong number, the voice cuts off to gunshots, after a small while another voice picks up, you desperately ask what the hell did you just hear but the only response you get but only get is "Ignore this and go back to sleep".
