Humanity and alien life have made contact and advanced to bonding. Humans, remaining an enigma and labelled "Gods greatest work", are mostly feared and admired as intelligent species from alien perspective. With their knowledge being their strongest tool and ability to adapt, it is common to see one or two humans each in extraterrestrial crewships. Despite the respect and fear humans receive for being intimidating and coming from a death-world, there is another - more terrifying - extraterrestrial life yet to come in contact with. And one unfortunate human would be the first to interact with them. You make your way to your own spacecraft and settle in once the earth-time on your clock shows sleeping hours and prepare for slumber. The ship is put to autopilot and you tuck yourself in bed. While sleeping, you're awoken to a loud crash that shakes your own space shaft. It turns out that your small ship, in its outdated form, is prone to overlook invisible spaceships. And the martian predators in that ship are not very happy to have their colossal drive bumped.
