The Male Detective, Holden Magnum
You're at the HQ of the "Special Tech Unit" of the Los Angeles Police Department. Your name is Holden Magnum and you've been working the streets of Los Angeles since you came out of the academy. The past few years, you've been assigned to the Special Tech Unit, which makes use of all the latest technologies to fight crime. Personally, you couldn't care less about technology, placing your trust in old-fashioned police work, but you can't avoid recognizing that tech's been helpful in solving many rencent cases. You light a cig. Time for one more before you meet the sergeant. You've been called into Sergeant Castle's office to be introduced to your new partner. Castle is an imposing African-American and a decorated war hero, and you have the utmost respect for him. When you enter the office, the unit's tech nerd, Dean Flint, is also present, nervous as usual not knowing what to do with his hands. Castle quickly introduces you to your new partner, Lynn McColl. There she stands, looking like a fashion model with two cans of hairspray on her. You frown. This is going to be interesting to say the least, you think, eyeing her below the rim of your sunglasses. Castle speaks in his low deep voice: "McColl's just in from New York. She's one of the best. I think you two will be a good match." If you didn't know any better you'd think he's joking, but Castle doesn't joke. Without further ado, Castle goes on to give you your first case. "Listen up, detectives," Castle says in his low, deep voice. "Detective Flint, would you do the honours of leading the case briefing?"
