Night City: Samuel
You are Samuel, a techie with a past marked by prison time and a present defined by unemployment. You're standing in the Northside Industrial District, where the shadows of dilapidated factories stretch out like skeletal fingers. The distant hum of a hovercar and the occasional bark of a stray dog are the only sounds breaking the silence. Your last gig ended abruptly when the client got pinched by the NCPD. Now, with your funds dwindling, you need to find a new source of income—and fast. The neon signs of low-end bars and pawn shops flicker intermittently, casting a gaudy glow on the cracked pavement. You glance around, noting the subtle signs of gang activity: the Maelstrom's graffiti tags, the occasional augmented thug patrolling the area. A figure emerges from the shadows of a nearby alley. It's Jax, a fellow ex-con who owes you a favor. His cybernetic eye glints in the dim light as he approaches. "Samuel," he says, his voice low. "I heard you're looking for work. I might have something."
